League leaders FC Astana produced two second-half goals in quick succession to earn a 2-0 win away to FC Atyrau.
The capital city club are back on track after recording their second consecutive win that cemented their top spot in the league.
Previously against Kyzyl-Zhar, the champions put their opponents to the sword thanks to a second-half blitz, and they all but replicated the pattern in Atyrau.
Although, this time round, Astana didn't wait until the very closing stages to make an impact, securing the victory after an hour mark.
Patrick Twumasi went down in the penalty area and himself provided an opener by smashing the resulted spot-kick into the top corner of the net.
The second came from Marin Tomasov minutes later as he finished coolly past goalkeeper Andrey Pasechenko following his great solo run into the box.
The Westerners couldn't put Astana custodian Alexandr Mokin under serious pressure to revive their hopes on a turnaround.
Therefore, Atyrau who fell to their first loss under coach Andrian Sosnovschi hit rock-bottom, although sit level on points with FC Aktobe.
And Grigory Babayan's men restored the five-point gap at the top of the Premier League table they enjoyed earlier in the season.
