Irtysh claim fourth place to deny Tobol in the battle for the final European spot, already-relegated Taraz and Okzhetpes have no consolation, and Kaisar leapfrog Shakhter during the 2017 Kazakhstan Premier League D-Day.
No miracles in the Big Duo rivalry
FC Astana made the final step towards glory by gaining a confident 2-0 win over the visiting Akzhayik Oral to prevent Kairat Almaty – who beat FC Aktobe 3-2 in a home clash – from stealing the league at the death.

Tobol come close but fail to clinch top four finish
A last-gasp winner from Carlos Fonseca handed Irtysh Pavlodar a crucial 1-0 win at home to midtablers Shakhter Karagandy which secured Vyacheslav Hroznyi's side an entry into the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
Shakhter kept the hosts at bay but ultimately fell after the Portuguese attacker unleashed a diagonal right-footed effort from the left side of the penalty area in the 93rd minute to send the home fans and technical staff into frenzy.
"Congratulations to regional authorities, club board, staff, journalists and, first of all, to our supporters, we play for them. It's a big achievement for entire Pavlodar football and its true fans," said Hroznyi after guiding his team to an emphatic triumph.
Irtysh's success caused an upset in Kostanay where their direct rivals Tobol Kostanay beat unmotivated FC Atyrau 2-0 and would have climbed into top four had the Pavlodar match ended in a draw.
Alexey Schyotkin fired Tobol in front after just ten minutes with his header off Dmitry Miroshnichenko's deflected cross and Artūras Žulpa added his insurance strike for the hosts in the 62nd minute.
Tobol have finished fifth in the Premier League table, one point shy of Irtysh, while Atyrau claimed eighth place, despite the point deduction they've received at the start of the campaign.
Preslav Yordanov came off the bench to deliver a man-of-the match display in Ordabasy Shymkent's 3-2 comeback victory over already-relegated bottomers Okzhetpes Kokshetau.
Alexey Petrushin's men, the confirmed bronze-medals winners, were trailing at half-time as Timur Dosmagambetov slotted home from inside the box five minutes from the break.
Substitute Yordanov got a headed leveller for Ordabasy in the 51st minute before Kokshetau retook the lead five minutes later after Oleg Nedashkovsky finished a good move.
The Blue Horses failed to hold on to their advantage though, with Yordanov recording a hat-trick in the final ten minutes of the meeting to decide the game.
The Bulgarian forward smashed the ball into the top corner of the net after being set up in the penalty area before heading home an Azat Nurgaliyev corner-kick.
Kaisar Kyzylorda proved stronger than FC Taraz away from home as a narrow 1-0 win earned the Wolves sixth position, finishing two points clear of Shakhter in the standings.
11th-placed Taraz entered the match with no chances of escaping the drop to the First League and lost the fourth straight game that left them four points behind Promotion playoff berth sealed by Akzhayik Oral.
The game-winning touch came from Dmitry Yevstigneyev in the 57th minute as his shot from distance saw the ball hit the back of the net via a deflection off the left-hand post.
Kaisar ended the game with ten men following a bit controversial dismissal of Milan Bojović with nine minutes remaining. The Serbian received his second yellow card being stretchered off aftermath of the collision with Taraz's keeper Jurakhon Babakhanov.
